Why do I charge a consultation fee?

By charging a fee I can focus on giving honest and accurate advice and answering your questions rather than trying to sell my services. My goal is to give you the information you need to make informed decisions about your trade mark strategy. If you decide to engage me for further services then the initial consultation fee will be credited toward the total fees. You can find an indication of my fees below.

Trade mark application with 1 or 2 classes

$990 + govt fees

  • Government fees vary from $250 to $400 for each class
  • In most cases the total fees for an application with 1 class are $1320
  • In most cases the total fees for an application with 2 classes are $1650
  • Trade mark fees are related to the goods or services your trade mark covers
  • Fees paid for the initial appointment are credited toward the total fees
  • The more different kinds of products or services your trade mark covers, the higher the fees for your application
  • A trade mark is registered for a period of 10 years. A renewal fee can then be paid to register the trade mark for a further 10 years

$1210 + govt fees

  • Government fees vary from $250 to $400 for each class
  • In most cases the total fees for an application with 3 classes are $2200
  • In most cases the total fees for an application with 4 classes are $2530
  • Trade mark fees are related to the goods or services your trade mark covers
  • Fees paid for the initial appointment are credited toward the total fees
  • The more different kinds of products or services your trade mark covers, the higher the fees for your application
  • A trade mark is registered for a period of 10 years. A renewal fee can then be paid to register the trade mark for a further 10 years
